Wykop is an application which enables easy browsing of and contributing to one of the most popular websites, Wykop.pl. The application offers 99% functionality of the website on the screens of iPhone/iPod touch.
Our tasks
- Creating the application from the start, up to 0.9f version named Gold Beta; at that stage the development of the application was continued by Wykop Sp. z o. o.
- Organizing a short training session during which the code of the application was presented and discussed.
Interesting functions:
- Limited cache: while using the application users may repeatedly visit the same article without connecting with the Internet. The cache also remembers users avatars. When the size of the temporary files exceeds a set limit the oldest files are removed.
- Sign-in on demand: when a user’s session is over and automatic sign-in had been selected, the application in the background will attempt to sign in and access personalized content without displaying unnecessary messages.
- Refreshing via list dragging: while on the list of findings, articles can be refreshed by moving the finger to a certain height.
